Argentine Ex-President wants to parliament.
husband and predecessor, the Argentine President Cristina Kirchner announced in the parliamentary elections on 28th June to run for a seat of the province of Buenos Aires. In these elections, half of the 257 seats in the House of Representatives and one third of the 72 Senate seats will be filled.
The elections were brought forward at the request of the President. Actually, they were to be held in October. Cristina Kirchner wants to prevent, if they claim that the elections fall into a period in which the international crisis, Argentina was plagued throughout. But polls show that more and more Argentines Kirchner assess the critical and has decreased their popularity. Probably the fear of losing even more votes, have led to this forward.
Néstor Kirchner will be elected as a parliamentarian. For some time he is president of the Peronist Party (PJ), which is deeply divided. Still, the "Kirchner Istas" a parliamentary majority, but the intra-party opposition is forming.
